They say that there is no such thing as a free lunch, but thanks to Food Co-ops, Chelmsford CVS got one on offer this month! They’ve been asked to host a lively event here at 47 Broomfield Road, by the East of England’s Food Co-ops Adviser, Gemma Sayers. Gemma, and Felicity Mawson of the Witham Wholefood Buying Group, will whet your appetite for food co-operatives and explain how to set up your own. The event is free to attend, and includes a delicious, local, seasonal lunch with dairy and gluten free options.
Christine Walkden, gardening expert on BBC1’s The One Show, will be giving a talk and sharing some expert tips on growing your own fresh produce on 16 February 2012, 7.30pm at Writtle College. The free event has been organised by the Edible Essex project and is sponsored by Essex and Suffolk Water. Booking is essential.
