Outdoor Activity Support
Age UK Essex have launched a new Outdoor Activity Support Service designed to provide support to people who want to take part in outdoor activities. They can accompany you on various outings including a visit to a social club, a doctor’s appointment, walk to the local park, trip to the supermarket or where possible an activity of your choice. This service is delivered by their friendly, dedicated Home Help staff who are all trained, insured and police checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Age UK’s “Never Walk Away” safety policy sets us apart from other providers. If one of their clients are in difficulty or fails to answer the door, our Home Helps will follow a pre-agreed emergency plan and will not leave until they know their client is safe. To help cover the cost of this service they charge an hourly rate. There is also a small one-off registration fee (registration fee not applicable to current Home Help clients).

Health in Mind: Stress Management Workshops
Stress is one of the main causes of employee sickness and this is starting to be recognised more in the workplace by employers who want to offer support to their staff. Our Stress Management Workshops promote positive wellbeing and teach strategies for managing stress based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles.
The workshop covers: What is stress? How can we recognise it? Identifying and challenging negative thoughts, and Problem solving and time management tips.
The session would be held at your place of work to make it easier for staff to attend and typically last for 1 hour 30 minutes. This can be arranged at a time to suit your workplace to limit disruption to the working day, which can include lunchtimes. Health in Mind (Mid Essex) can also offer several sessions if required.
To find out more information or to book a workshop please call Health in Mind (Mid Essex) on 01376 308704 and ask to speak to one of the Assistant Psychologists.
