C360 Champions

“Care and Support in Essex wanted to become a Community360 Champion and raise money for a worthy independent charity formed in 1968 and celebrating 50 years and who are aiming to raise £50000 to donate to the voluntary and community sector. On the 28th September we decided to “Walk a Million Steps” along Southends Pier which at 1.34 miles is the longest pleasure pier in the world and a Grade II listed building. Over 70 staff and customers from various Schemes and Offices joined in decorating their shoes and making the 5660 steps to the end of the Pier and back again. The sun shone and the view was amazing. Prizes were given to the best “Decorated Shoes” and we raised a fantastic sum of £360.”

Thank you to all those that took part and for raising an impressive amount of sponsorship!

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust

To Tackle Serious Stress in Veterans, Carers and Families

The programme will fund a small number of projects that will enable charities and health professionals to work together to develop and try new ideas that they have developed with veterans and their carers’ and families. The programme will support projects where there is good evidence to suggest that the idea might produce outcomes for veterans and their carers’ and families that are better than current sources of support on offer.

The programme is now open for applications. Click here to link to the full programme guidance.

The programme will make grants to lead organisations; who will then work with delivery organisations. There will be an overarching evaluation. You can read more about the roles of the lead organisation and delivery organisation, or do have a look at the diagram produced. If you are thinking of applying, perhaps think about how you might connect with other organisations.
