Tree-cycle for charity
Did a real Christmas tree take pride of place in your home this year? If so, when it’s time to take its beautiful decorations off, make sure you give it one last special role by recycling it with St Helena Hospice for a donation.
This year they will be collecting trees from CO1-CO9 and CO11 from your property on 12 January.
North East Essex CCG announce PROVIDE as the provider of the new COPD Health Coaching Service in North East Essex
North East Essex CCG is pleased to announce that with effect from 1 January 2018, following a competitive tendering process; PROVIDE CIC will be providing a new COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) Health Coaching Service across North East Essex.
COPD is an umbrella term used to describe progressive lung diseases including emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and chronic asthma. In North East Essex (NEE) around 8,000 people have COPD. The condition is most frequently characterised by breathlessness, cough and recurrent lung infections and is largely caused by smoking. People with COPD benefit from a range of interventions that help them improve lung health, improve symptoms and reduce the risk of disease flare-ups. Not all patients receive the right interventions at the right time and not all patients have sufficient information available to help them make the right choices to aid self-management. Support from a Health Coach will offer a solution to this.
Grants for Small Organisations Making Good Use of Volunteers (UK)
Charities, social enterprises and community interest companies have until 31 January 2019 to apply to the Woodward Charitable Trust to have their project considered at the next Trustees meeting. Grants from £200 upwards are awarded for projects covering the Arts; Community and Social Welfare; Disability and Health; and Education. Preference is given to small to medium-sized charities with an income of less than £300,000 where small grants can have more impact. Priority is given to projects that make good use of volunteers, encourage past and current users to participate and ensure that funds awarded are being well used.
