Dance studio providing specialised classes for SEN students opening soon

A new dance studio in Clacton that will provide classes for SEN students are holding an open day this weekend.

Purely Dance UK, located on Gorse Lane Industrial Estate, are staging the event to showcase their impressive studio which includes a large dance space with mirrors, kitchen, changing rooms and waiting room. The school even has a car park for their visitors.

Principal of Purely Dance UK, Jamie-Jean Cushway, is a fully qualified dance instructor and a member of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). Speaking about the open day, Jamie-Jean is keen to welcome all to the event and her classes, “I have been dancing all my life and have always wanted to open my own dance school that also includes classes for students with special educational needs and disabilities. I have a passion for teaching young people and adults and want to open a school that is for everyone.”

The teaching staff at Purely Dance UK are dedicated to providing quality dance education in a supportive and nurturing learning environment. Classes are due to start in September and the team are keen to hear from anyone who may be interested in taking lessons at the studio. In particular, they would love to hear from people who are disabled that may be interested in taking lessons. The studio based at Gorse Lane is reached by a flight of stairs and presently has no lift access, however Jamie-Jean is currently in the process of locating a fully accessible premises where lessons for those who have physical disabilities can take place.

If you would like to find out more about Purely Dance UK and their classes, the open day is this Saturday, 18th August running from 10am – 2pm at Unit 13, Brunel Units, Brunel Road, Clacton-on-Sea, CO15 4LU. As well as class information, there will be stalls providing food and drink and ice cream! The first 25 visitors on the day will also receive a free goodie bag! These stalls will be based outside the studio on the ground floor.
