Book Talk:
At the moment we have 5 reading groups who meet in the library:

Open Book:
Meets first Monday of each month 11:00 to 12:00

Between the Lines:
Meets first Thursday of each month 17:00 to 18:00

The Tuesday Bookgroup:
Meets third Tuesday of each month 15:00 to 16:00

Happy Bookers:
Meets on Saturdays every 6 weeks 11:00 to 12:00

Chelmsford Audio Bookgroup:
Suitable for the visually impaired, but welcome to everyone, meets first Thursday of each month 10:30 to 11:30

Booksale:
Chelmsford Library has a selection of withdrawn books for sale on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the month inside the library. We also hold regular large booksales in County Hall Public Square outside the library entrance doors. For details of upcoming dates, please click on the Events section above.

Chelmsford Borough Council:
Clear recycling sacks for plastic bottles are available from the library. One roll of clear sacks per property.

Computer courses:
Chelmsford Library offers free computer courses, both for complete beginners and for those wanting basic skills in getting online.

Baby and Toddler Time:
Come along to the Children's Library to share books, stories and rhymes with us.
Rhyme time sessions are held on Tuesdays 10:00-10:30, 11:00-11:30 and 14:15-14:45.
“Tots Tales” storytime sessions are held on Thursdays 10:00-10:30 and 11:00-11:30.
Please arrive promptly as sessions are very popular and numbers are limited.
Sessions do not run on Bank Holidays or during School Holidays. For more information about activities during School Holidays, please see Events and Exhibitions above.

R U Daddy Cool?:
Make some noise with your baby and toddler at our Daddy Cool sessions. Sessions are held monthly on Saturdays at 11.00am.

Chelmsford Volunteering Centre outreach:
Chelmsford Volunteering Centre hold regular drop in and information sessions in the library to promote local volunteering opportunities and to meet potential volunteers.
Sessions take place alternate Tuesdays between 10am and 1pm.
