Colchester Park and Ride – Extended Hours and Free Travel

Colchester Park and Ride will commence extended hours from Monday 30th July 0530 to 2130 Monday to Friday and 0700 to 1900 on Saturday.

During August customers will get free travel on production of a valid rail ticket – ideal for those wanting to try the park and ride for commuting. There is plenty of space to park and frequent services to popular stops like the town centre, North Station, Middleborough and Colchester General Hospital, Colchester Park and Ride makes travelling into Colchester quick and stress free.

Plusbus – Combined Bus and Rail Travel

Travelling by train and bus?

Then why not add PLUSBUS to your train ticket. It gives you unlimited bus travel around town, at the start, the finish, or both ends of your train journey. Prices start from £2.00 per day.

Each town where PLUSBUS tickets are available has one zone covering the whole urban area – you can travel as much as you like on participating bus operators services within this zone.

Kids go Free – Chelmsford & Colchester Park and Ride August 2018

Explore Chelmsford and Colchester with free travel on park and ride buses for under 16s when accompanied by an adult in August 2018.

Make the most of the summer holidays with children travelling for free on Park and Ride buses to Chelmsford and Colchester.

Many parents will be starting to think about how to entertain their children during the long break. Taking days out can be expensive, particularly if you factor in travel on top.

The good news is that getting into Chelmsford and Colchester should be a doddle now Essex County Council has launched its ‘Kids Go Free in August’ Park and Ride promotion.

The promotion allows under 16s, accompanied by an adult, (unaccompanied £1) to hop on a Park and Ride bus to Colchester or Chelmsford for free after 9am each day this August. The new Group fare has also been introduced for up to 2 adults and 3 children for £5.

A daily ticket costs just £3.50 (Chelmsford) £3 Colchester for adults with discounts available for weekly and monthly fares. Concessionary pass holders travel free from 9am Monday to Friday and all day Saturdays.

Chelmsford is served by two Park and Ride sites: Chelmer Valley (CM3 3PR) to the north and Sandon (CM2 7RU) to the south.

Colchester (CO4 5JA) has a large site just off Junction 28 of the A12, opposite Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Services run to and from each site at regular intervals throughout the day from Monday to Saturday. The Park and Ride does not run on Sunday, public holidays and Bank Holidays.
