Do you enjoy walking?
How are your map reading skills?
Fancy a combination of the two?
Heart and Sole, Chelmsford's healthy walking scheme, will soon be running its very first fun orienteering event and would love for you to joion us.
Orienteering is a competitive outdoor activity that uses your map reading skills to navigate set areas in a specific time. On the way round you collect as many 'pin punches' as possible.
Fastest back with the most punches is the winner!
Our event will take place from 10am on
Sunday 4 March 2012
and will offer a choice of two competitions
•45 minute challenge
•75 minute challenge
Participants will be sent off in pairs, (don't worry if you don't have a partner, we can sort this bit for you!) or families where children are present.
The event is designed to be enjoyable for all and you don't need have any prior orienteering experience.
Whats more, we'll be running short 15 minute workshops prior to the 'off' to show you exactly how to navigate the course and offer some helpful hints.
To book your space...
Please visit the orienteering webpage where you will be able to print off a booking form.
Taking part costs
•£2.50 per adult
•£1.50 per child (up to 14 years old)
If you have any questions, please contact Sports Development on 01245 606569 or email sportmad@chelmsford.gov.uk.
We look forward to seeing you!
