Have your say on the future of Braintree town centre

We are urging you to have your say on whether you think pedestrianising Market Place and most of Braintree High Street would make Braintree a better place.

One of the options we are exploring as part of our plans to improve and support the town centre is the idea of further restricting vehicle access, which we believe will create a more social environment for residents and visitors, as well as allow more opportunities for town centre events.

We want to understand what people think of this idea before we make any decisions so please complete the poll on our website or by visiting Braintree Town Hall or Causeway House and fill in a postcard. Polls will also be posted on our social media channels which will contribute to the final consultation response.

The consultation closing date is 5pm on Monday 15th October 2018.

A great day out for the whole family!

Not long until Witham Town Council’s annual Puppet Festival. The date is Saturday 15th September – put it in your diary!

It looks to be another fantastic day with something for everyone to enjoy, all presented in the areas in and around the Grove Shopping Centre, the Newlands Centre, the High Street, the Cofunds Car Park and Witham Library.

The theme of this year’s Puppet Festival is ‘Wild and Wonderful’ – look out for spectacular colourful dragons, fabulous flamingos and you might even find a dinosaur if you look very carefully!
