Throughout the leafy, windblown counties of Essex and unitary authorities of Thurrock and Southend, Disability Essex are busy building a valuable network of informal social clubs supporting people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers within their own locality.
The charity, formed in 1949 and known previously as the Essex Disabled Peoples Association Ltd, readily recognises the extreme importance of local service provision and therefore is keen to promote options for disability engagement in each person’s neighbourhood zone.
Many local Access Groups are members of Disability Essex along with regional branches of national organisations such as the MS Society and Arthritis Care. A strong presence of disability awareness and inclusion is therefore growing rapidly amongst the diverse Essex landscape.
If you or anyone you know wishes to join the prospective leisure based, supportive web of friendships forming and widen your possibilities for fun-filled sociability, you can call the Disability Essex Helpline on 0844 412 1770 or the Disability Essex office on 0844 412 1771 for further information. You can also send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or, alternatively, visit the Disability Essex website and find further information about establishing avenues for increasing opportunities to whiz up a timely social whirl in your own Essex zone.
Perhaps the Essex disabled community can all be in it together!
