‘Loneliness and the effects of befriending’ – Older People’s Thematic – Monday 5th June – 10am -12noon

The older peoples thematic is one of our new one’s as part of our target audience focus thematics.  This one if for those of you that work or volunteer with older people. We are delighted to have Lin Boulter from Age Concern Southend will be talking about loneliness, and the positive effect befriending can make. ‘Dying Matters’  – Carers Thematic – Tuesday 13th June – 1-4pm

In our 2nd Carers Thematic in partnership with the Southend Carers Consortium with will be focussing on Dying Matters and those potentially difficult conversations carers might need to have with loved ones. We have a packed afternoon, with speakers covering subjects such as wills, legal Power of Attorney, DNAR (do not attempt resuscitation  & advance directives. We will also have some discussion based around difficult conversations and all top of all this a showcase of organisations that support this area of work. ‘It’s not all a load of rubbish’ – Veolia Engagement Event – Wednesday 14th June – 12.30-3pm

The Council waste management provider Veolia are keen to engage with the local community to create a network for discussion and engagement, this event will be your opportunity to find out more about Veolia and the potential work and support they can provide to your organisation, association or the street you live in.
