Do you remember the 1984 film classic Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon? Its storyline focuses on Ren, a teenage boy who moves from Chicago, where dancing is second nature, to a small Western town, where this simple act is deemed illegal by a ‘bible bashing minister’. Added to this, is the complication of Ren falling for Ariel, a ‘troubled but lovely blonde’, with a jealous boyfriend.
Ren and his classmates are desperate to get rid of the dancing ban, their main motivation being that the senior prom is just around the corner….
Now, the film has been re-made, with a hot new cast, including Kenny Womald and Julianne Hough, taking on the roles of Ren and Ariel. It is directed by Craig Brewer and features music by Cee-lo Green, which all in all, makes this a must-see movie!
