Local charity Listening Books now has more titles than ever available for children and adults.
This charity provides an audiobook service for children and adults with a disability, illness or learning difficulty that prevents them from reading or comfortably holding a book.
Audiobooks are available in three formats: MP3 CDs which are sent via Royal Mail; internet streaming through the Listening Books website (www.listening-books.org.uk); and as downloads that can be transferred to a portable player such as an iPod.
With over 7000 titles to choose from (including fiction and non-fiction) and 5000 downloadable titles, any bookworm is guaranteed to be satisfied!
Listening Books also runs a scheme called ‘Sound Learning’, providing a number of educational titles that are unavailable elsewhere in the audio format, such as ‘Under the Weather: Stories About Climate Change’ by Rob Bowden, ‘Playing on the Edge’ by Neil Arksey and ‘To Kill a Mockingbird: A Text Guide’ by CGP publications.
