The Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice, which provides guidance to local authorities, clinical commissioning groups, early years providers, schools and colleges on carrying out their duties under part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014, has been laid before Parliament today. Parliament must approve the Code to enable it to come into force.
The Code of Practice, Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations and the Government’s response to consultation on those documents are now on the Department’s web pages here.
The availability of the Code, Regulations and information about transitional arrangements will be of assistance to local authorities and their partners, early years providers, schools, colleges and those working with children, young people and parents in further developing their plans for implementing the reforms from September 2014 onwards.
