Following their formation in 1934 at the Cock and Bell pub in Writtle, Chelmsford Athletics Club have enjoyed a long and eventful history since this time. Based at the Chelmsford Sports and Athletic centre, the club have a modern venue well equipped for both athlete and spectator alike. Sporting an eight lane running track and outside throwing areas, Chelmsford plays host to a number of fixtures throughout the spring and summer months at both senior and youth level. Currently sharing their home with Chelmsford City FC, the stadium is served with free parking, including some spaces for disabled spectators holding a blue badge. Additional parking can also be found in the streets surrounding the stadium. Inside the venue, the main stand has two disabled toilets, one at ground level and another upstairs which can be reached by lift. Fixtures are free of charge to attend however, there may be a charge for some non-club events eg. the Essex County Championships. Should spectators have any questions regarding their visit, they are encouraged to contact the club directly.
