Essex has a rich tradition of cricket and we hope that they are the first of many clubs we publicise on our site. Details of the club’s facilities can be seen below.

Formed in 1862, Colchester and East Essex are the premier cricket club in Colchester. Based at Castle Park close to the town centre, the club run several sides including Men’s teams playing in the Shepherd Neame Essex League, a Women’s team playing in the Beaumont Seymour North East Essex Women’s Cricket League and numerous youth sides. Castle Park is easily reachable by bus with the 4, 11, 63, 67B, 72, 73 and 803 services all stopping at nearby Cowdray Avenue. There is also car parking available at several points around the ground. The club are currently raising funds in order to build a new pavilion that will have improved accessibility features. Updates on this development will appear on the club’s website. In the meantime however, anyone wishing to visit the ground to watch a fixture is very much welcome.
