The White Bus – Free Film Shows for Children with Disabilities

Posted · Add Comment

We are pleased to present, in our Cinema at TAP, film shows for children with disabilities. These allow them the opportunity to experience a ‘big screen’ film show while allowing parents and carers to relax, safe in the knowledge that, if their children are a bit boisterous (or even want to leave halfway through!), it doesn’t matter at all.

The screenings are funded by the Council under their Short Breaks initiative and admission is free to children and parents/carers. Soft drinks are available for the children and tea/coffee for the adults (all at no cost) and parents/carers are welcome to bring their food and drink.

The films are shown on Saturdays. Each film is shown in the morning (at 10.30am) and in the afternoon (at 2.00pm), to allow for greater choice. All are ‘U’ or ‘PG’ certificated. As an added attraction, for those who arrive early, classic cartoons (such as Bugs Bunny or Tom & Jerry) are shown for half an hour before the film comes on.

We are delighted to have received funding for three shows this year. We will be showing Paddington (PG) on Saturday 28th September,Frozen (PG) on Saturday 24th October and Shaun the Sheep (U) on Saturday 28th November. My colleagues and I hope to see many of you and your children ‘at the pictures’!

Admission is free for children and parents/carers.
