Bus service for Brentwood – Operated by Stephenson’s of Essex

Service 71c – Corstead Manor to Brentwood Station – Monday to Fridays

Essex County Council is pleased to report there is a bus service linking Highwood Hospital (known as Corstead Manor) to Brentwood Station. Service 71c is operated by Stephenson’s of Essex.

Service 71c was introduced as a condition of planning permission for the development of Highwood Hospital and Little Hospital sites in Brentwood.

The service runs at peak times Monday to Friday and is funded through section 106 which is a contribution from the developers – Bellway Homes, with a condition of the section 106 agreement being to enhance the bus which serves the new development.

Service 71c is an attractive travel option for commuters accessing Brentwood Station, as part of the new Transport for London Elizabeth Rail Line (Crossrail) and thus reduce traffic generation from the development.

Essex County Council Bus Consultation

Essex County Council (ECC) regularly consults on changes to its supported bus services. The consultations look to understand the impact of a timetable and/or route change to people using the service, as well as ensuring the service meets the criteria set out by the Bus Strategy “Getting Around in Essex”.
