Trust Links awarded £20,000 from Morrisons Foundation to fund minibus
Local mental health and wellbeing charity, Trust Links, are celebrating being awarded £20,000 of funding from the Morrisons Foundation to purchase its first minibus. The purchase will enable us to provide increased access for service users to wellbeing courses which run at all 4 of our sites and allow more off site social activities and day trips.
Over the past five years Trust Links has grown from one therapeutic gardening and wellbeing site located in Westcliff, to four, having opened sites in Rochford, Shoeburyness and Thundersley. This growth has allowed us to offer therapeutic gardening programmes and wellbeing courses to people who have mental health problems and learning difficulties across a much wider area of South East Essex. The gardens and the new eco building in Rochford also allow us to teach the wider community about sustainable living.
Matt King, CEO of Trust Links said “The funding from Morrisons Foundation is fantastic as having our own minibus will make a huge difference. We will be able to transport members from site to site and to venues in the community, allowing them to participate in more activities like organised sports and socials, building their confidence and broadening horizons. Being out and about in the community also helps to remove the stigma associated with mental health which is one of our key objectives.”
