Mercury Theatre Pop Up
The Mercury Theatre will relocate to Mercury at Abbey Field, a state of the art pop-up theatre in Autumn 2019 whilst major redevelopment of the current theatre takes place.
The temporary Abbey Field theatre space will include an increased seating capacity of over 800 seats, it will be completely undercover and fully heated with full bar, kiosks, toilets and onsite parking available to pre-book. To find out more about Mercury at Abbey Field please head here:

A Coven A Grove A Stand
New this month at Firstsite is an exciting exhibition by susan pui san lok. A coven A Grove A Stand is all about rediscovering the persecution of witches, reimagining the landscape. Combining sculpture, sound and moving image, with hand-crafted pieces from local communities its one not too miss.
Tom Jones To Play Castle Park This Summer
Global superstar Tom Jones is set to perform at Colchester Castle Park on Sunday 21 July 2019 in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment this summer.
The 10th Chappel Winter Beer Festival – 1/2 March
While we usually consider the Winter Festival to be the smaller brother of the famous Chappel Summer Beer Festival, this is the 10th Birthday of this event. As usual it will be held in the historic Goods Shed at the East Anglian Railway Museum.
Essex Vegan Festival – 2 March
The Essex Vegan Festival heads to Colchester’s Charter Hall on Saturday 2 March. With 80+ fantastic stalls, caterers, talks and workshops on offer its set to be a great day. Plus children’s activities taking place throughout the day it is a family friendly event.
